In anticipation, I thought I would share a few of my favorite quotes from the talks I have been reading from the October General Conference.
- "Learn what we should learn, do what we should do, and be what we should be." -President Monson
- "The children of God have more in common than they have differences. And even the differences can be seen as an opportunity. God will help us see a difference in someone else not as a source of irritation but as a contribution." -President Eyring
- "Speak well of each other." -President Eyring
- "When we do not retaliate-when we turn the other cheek and resist feelings of anger- we too stand with the Savior. We show forth his love, which is the only power that can subdue the adversary and answer our accusers without accusing them in return. That is not weakness. that is Christian courage." - Elder Hales
- "Evil will always be with us in this world. Part of mortality's great test is to be in the world without becoming like the world." -Elder Hales
- "I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you. He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face." -Bishop McMullin
- "What could be more deceptive than to entice women, young and old, you and me, to be so involved in ourselves, our looks, our clothes, our body shape and size that we lose sight of our divine identity and our ability to change the world through out virtuous influence?" -Sister Dalton
I will post more quotes each day until conference begins! If you haven't received the packet of conference ideas for kids through email, and you would like to receive it, just let me know!
