Heaven Was Needing a Hero

This video was played at our stakes 9/11 Memorial Service today. I am glad I was able to go. I love America. I am so grateful for all of the many hero's who let me live in the land of the free, and the home of the brave. I will never forget that tragic september day, and the 1,000's of lives that were lost.

Remembering 9/11

This video means a lot to me. I worked on a 9/11 memorial for 4 years and had the opportunity to meet the Howell family and work very closely with the Wahlstrom family.

FUN Day!

Yesterday was a great day. I started off the day making Pickles with my Mom. My friend Kristie convinced me to try it... so we did! They turned out AMAZING!!! So yummy! We had them on our Hamburger's tonight, along with Homemade Hamburger Buns that were so delicious!

Hamburger Buns

1-1/2 cups wheat flour
1-1/2 cups white flour
1-1/2 Tbsp. sugar
2-1/4 tsp. yeast
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1 cup warm water
optional: sesame seeds, Italian seasoning or other herbs

Preparation:
1. Prepare dough by hand or using your bread machine.
2. Then, divide the dough into six equal parts, and roll each piece into a ball.
3. Place the balls on a greased cookie sheet, and flatten into 4-inch rounds.
4. Sprinkle tops with sesame seeds, Italian seasoning or your choice of herbs.
5. Cover and allow to rise 20-30 minutes or until doubled in size.
6. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until done.7. Allow the buns to cool; then slice in half, fill and serve.

While we made pickles, my kids make marshmallow sculptures.

Hadley mostly enjoyed eating them!

Then we went with my Mom to have lunch with my sister-in-law, Aunt, and cousins at the Gateway! It was so fun getting to visit with all of them! Boston noticed his name on a candy machine... he was thrilled.

Boston and Trevor were walking together and decided they needed to hold hands.

After lunched we went to the fountain and let the kids play while all of us ladies just talked and talked and talked and talked some more!

The kids were all dancing so cute!! If you look closely in the top left corner that is where all the ladies are sitting! I wish so bad I would have taken a picture of that..

2 1/2 hours spent here.

So much fun!

Boston and Ty drying off on the "hot" cement! What a great day!

Pigtails

Hadley's hair is finally long enough to do real pigtails! She looks so much older with piggies! It's so much fun!

This Post is Brought to You by the Letter P

Today was Boston's 1st day of Preschool!!

We of course had to celebrate with a "P" Pancake!

Then take pictures with the letter "P"

Since he was cooperating... we took lots of pictures!

He could hardley wait for the afternoon to come. He went right into his classroom, put his backpack away, and waved goodbye to me! Hadley and I drove home, missing our Boston.

Not long later, we went back to pick him up! I asked him how preschool was and he said "Cool!"

He brought home LOTS to show me!

We celebrated his 1st day with some yummy chocolate chip cookies with chocolate tops!

I can't believe my little man is big enough to go to school! Time is going to fast! I am excited for his new adventure!

Labor Day

Labor Day= Labor Day for Jeremy!

He made HUGE progress on our bathroom!

So exciting!

Meanwhile me and the kids went to 7 Peaks for the last time!

Then we had a fun night having a BBQ and roasting some good ol' SMORES!!!

Yummyness!

How did my mother spend her birthday? Making YUMMY Raspberry Jam!

It was a fun birthday surprise when our old friend Lisa Scholmer rang the doorbell! It was so wonderful to get to visit with her!

Boston loved squishing all the raspberry's!

Why do kids have to be so silly sometimes?? I promise, they really were having a great time!

I think my Mom enjoyed her birthday, and we did too!!

A week later, we made SALSA!!! We used some tomatoes from my garden, some from hers, and we also used her green peppers! It felt so good to grow something, and then bottle some for later!

I jumped on the cupcake ban-wagon late, but I am too in love with cupcakes! They are just so fun to make! I whipped these chocolate yummys up for a baby shower. So fun!

What's next you might ask? Pickles! Wish us luck!

Backyard Friends

We have had lots of backyard visitors, despite our fully fence backyard. We've had Deer on several occasions, cats, a dog, blue birds, morning doves, hummingbirds, quails, and robins. Our latest visitor surprised me... a SQUIRREL!

I'm only used to seeing these when camping! It came up onto our deck to snack on the kids craisens they left behind after lunch.

So fun! I hope he visits us again!

Farm Country

I have some relatives that probably get a kick out of my "farm" pictures.. my kids riding a horse in a circle. But since we don't have the real thing, we enjoy our "farms!"Another 2 dollar Tuesday was spent at Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country.

Boston LOVED riding the pony. He kept taking his hat off and yelling YEE-HA!! He was so sad when his turn was over.

Hadley was a little hesitant at first, but soon was kicking the horse and bouncing up and down trying to get it to go faster!

We checked out lots of fun animals! I just really love the horses. The kids especially enjoyed feeding the baby lama's and goats. It was to hard to take a picture of them feeding the cute little things, and try to make sure they didn't get their hands eaten!

We went on a Wagon Ride!

My kids got throw in jail...

Boston was making me read all the sings about the animals. I found this one particularly interesting.

Hadley was a great "worker" on the farm, picking all the fruit off the tree's.

Boston was also a great worker putting the food on the conveyor belt to go to the store!

Nothin' better then a tractor ride!

YEE-HA!

What a nice cow to let 2 crazy kids ride him!

After we had had all the farm fun we could take we went and got some yummy ice cream cones!!

Along the way we found a fun pipe water thingy! Boston had a blast pulling levers and watching water spray all different directions and ways.

Of course we got to see a little bit of the gardens.

So Beautiful!
