The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Relief Society General Conference

I was really lucky to be able to go with my mom to the Conference Center and attend the General Relief Society Conference this past Saturday night. I love going to the Conference Center for a couple of reasons. First, it is always wonderful to be in the presence of the Prophet of God. I loved when President Monson walked in, and all 21,000+ women stood up in silence as a matter of respect. It was a very powerful moment.
-
The second reason I love going to the conference center to experience conference is when they have the choir and the whole congregation sing. I love being able to stand up with 21,000 other women and sing of the truths we know. The spirit always fills my body, and tears come to my eyes as I realize the power of the women of the church.
-
The third reason is to be uplifted, taught, and motivated by the leaders who speak to us. Here are a few things I thought I would share; please note that these are not exact quotes.
I loved when Sister Julie Beck said that without personal revelation you cannot succeed, with personal revelation you can not fail. This is something that is different about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe that everyone is entitled to their own personal revelation. What a blessing that is.
I really loved when President Dieter F. Uchtdorf spoke. He reminded all of us women that we are treasured daughters of our Heavenly Father with great value. One of my favorite things he said was that when we improve the world around us, we improve the world in us.
It was a wonderful evening.

5 Kids for A Week

We just got back from staying with my cousin's kids for a week! We had lots of fun hanging out with them and taking them all over town to dance and football! They are extremely busy kids! So busy that I only got a picture of Maddie while we were there. Boston loved staying at there house! He especially seem to love having more the 100 square feet to explore!

Boston also really really liked Alec's drum sticks! He dragged at least one of them around the house all day! This is just a video of him jammin'

My Mom, and nephews Logan and Mason came to visit me while we were there! It was so fun to have them come! As you can tell Logan is really into winking lately.

A few hours before we left, there was this beautiful rainbow outside their back door. It was a perfect ending to a great week with my fun cousins.

Boston Update (Wordy Post. Sorry)

Boston got his stitches out today!! Yahoo!! I took him into the hospital this morning and as soon as we entered he started screaming... there was no doubt he remembered what had occured there just 5 days earlier. It was a pretty quick process, and then the nurse asked if he wanted a sucker, and he said "Ya, Sucker!" I had no idea he knew that word!

Boston is getting to be quite the communicator. He can now say;
-Mama
-Dada
-Grandma
-Grandpa
-You
-Ya, and Yes
-No
-That
-Milk
-Cracker
-Diaper
-Truck
-Duck
-Car
-Ball
-All Done
-Bath
-Shoes
-Juice
-Balloon
-Moon
-Sucker
-Hi (Which he says to EVERYONE! and I mean EVERYONE!!)
-Bubbles
-Cheese
-Cereal

These are the words he knows how to Sign
Tiger
Monkey
Fish
Bath
Dada
Milk
Cracker
Bath
More
All Done
Eat/Food
Wash Hands

Boston is at such a fun age. He is learning so much so quickly! He REALLY loves balls, and cars, and chasing the vacuum! What a funny little guy.

Sad Saturday of Stitches

After only being awake for about 10 minutes, Boston crashed into the corner of our wall and got a nice gash on his forehead. Jeremy ran into the bathroom, where I literally jumped out of the shower, threw clothes on and helped Jeremy put this nice bandage on Boston's head.
Seeing how deep it was, we knew he needed stitches. So we took him to insta-care, and they recommended we go to the Emergency Room. So off we went to the Hospital. As soon as the doctor and nurse started touching him he said "All Done." He knew he didn't want to be there. 6 or 7 stitches and a million tears and screams later this is what he looks like.
Not exactly how we envisioned our Saturday morning to go, but we are glad he is once again our happy little Boston!
The nurse gave him a sucker so he was really happy and sticky after that!

I was just going to post about how exciting it is to have Boston walking now, but now I am not so sure how exciting it is. Kind of scary!

Patriot Day

I can't believe it has been 7 years since our country was attacked by terrorists. I just wanted to take today (Patriot Day) to remember all those who lost their lives that day, and in the war that has followed. I also want to thank all of those who continue to fight to keep our country safe, and to help other countries enjoy the freedoms that we are so blessed to enjoy. Happy Patriot Day.

Camping... in the middle of nowhere!

Jeremy, Boston, and I went with Jeremy's Sister Jenn, and her husband camping this past weekend. We had planned to stay at this really nice campground with tables, fire pits, running water, and flush toilets... but 20 minutes before we arrived the campground filled. So some guy tells us to go up this really rough dirt road.... what seemed like forever later, we come to this "campground" which was actually a few clearings with rocks in a circle to make a fire pit. NO tables, NO water, NO TOILETS!! It was getting late and we were all really hungry so we decided to rough it!

It actually wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. We ate good food, roasted lots of smores, and Boston loved walking around with his lantern. I think everyone had a good time! Besides having no "camping luxury's" this place was amazing beautiful!! I know I keep saying this, but WOW we live in a great state with something beautiful around every corner!

Finally, a girl has joined the family!

I Love being an Aunt to my 4 nephews....

But now I finally have a Niece!!
My brother Phillip and his wife Cassie welcomed Audriana Claire to their family on September 2nd, and she is so adorable!! It is so fun to see a baby with Bows and cute headbands!
Now I just can't wait until she is old enough to play with mapletown, barbies, and dolls, and of course go shopping!
