The Love/ Hate Relationship with Being a Home Owner

I Hate being a homeowner sometimes... such as one day being told you need to get a new water heater... and then the next day having the main water pipe break in your front yard. So not fun.

Long story short... pipe broke- 8 phone calls later- some nice dudes came the next day to fix it!

3 giant holes were dug.

There goes the beautiful grass...

and the new super great pipe was put in. Not exactly what I wanted to spent our tax return on, but I am so happy to have running water in our house again!

Looking at the positive...
-We found the leak quickly. No damage caused from all the water.
-It was a good teaching lesson on how much water storage you REALLY will need. Water goes quickly.
-I now really really really really appreciate running water and flushing toliets!

Why I LOVE being a homeowner...

is because of these two diggers! Much cuter then the proffessionals! I love owning a home so my kids can be as loud as they want, and now with this awesome weather they can go outside in our fenced backyard and play ALL DAY! I think it is going to be the best summer ever. They are best friends, and love playing outside together! I also love that we are back to eating our lunches and some dinners outside!! LOVE IT!! Hello Spring!

Cousin's Weekend

We had a fun 3 days filled with cousisn!

It started Thursday night when my Mom, Aunt Joyce, and Cousins Megan, Janae, Tiffaney, Tennille, nad Britt got together for some yummy dinner and fun coversation!! Janae was in town for work and we decided to celebrate the occasion!

The next day we had a cousin craft day at my Mom's house! She made magical pudding that turned green when the kids stired it! It was so cool!

Yummy Yummy!

Then they set to work on making their leprechaun traps!

They were very focused and worked really hard!

Their finished products were so creative and awesome!

That night my kids had two of their cousins come over for a sleepover!!! After I got done helping the boys brush their teeth I walked in to see Hadley "Reading" a book to Aby. Cutest thing ever.

Here they are all ready for story time!

In the morning they all sat in a line on the couch again to watch some cartoons!

Caydon chose the breakfast; Chocolate Chip Pancakes! It was a short, but sweet time with Caydon and Aby!!
-
WOW! We are so lucky to see so many awesome cousisn in 3 days!!

"Cabin Fever"

Our dear friends Bruce and Debany invited our family and our good friends Jennie and Jeremiah up to their beautiful cabin for the weekend. They are seriously the kindest people ever! We got there about 7:30pm, and plowed our way through the snow to get inside!

Boston and Porter immedietly found these marshmello guns and set up an ambush from the loft.

The kiddos enjoyed a midnight snack!

The men just chatting away.... mostly politics I think. We stayed up until midnight just chatting and chatting away. Then we all headed to bed... although Jeremy and I hardly slept. Hadley was up screaming most the night. She seems to really struggle sleeping other places... suggestions?? (I always bring her blanket, and her monkey...)

The next morning we woke up to these two net heads running around and being best pals! They just love each other!

After breakfast and some chill time we headed out to go sledding! Here is Jeremy in front of the cabin!
Boston was in heaven. He loves snow just as much as I do! Debany nicknamed him Bullet Boston because he just FLEW down the hill and seem to be a natural at stearing! A big thanks to Bruce for helping him up and down so many times!

Hadley was really tired from being up all night, but she too enjoyed her rides with Mommy, Daddy, nad Debany!

Here is the crew! I loved watching my friends son Landon! He had a permant grin the whole time! If you click on the picture it will make it bigger and you can see all of the awesome sledders, and Debany the amazing puller!!

It was so nice to spend some time together with out other distractions.

Jeremiah, Jennie, Porter, and Landon. I never did get a picture of Bruce and Debany :(

We had a yummy lunch, and then the kiddos made some fun rolls with the play dough toys!

They had fun building a marble game with their Daddy! We went out sledding one more time before dinner!!

After our delicious dinner the kids were treated like royals and given a bath in the jetted tub. They thought that was AWESOME!! More bubbles then they could have dreamed!!!

Warming up by the fire after their bath, watching Muppet Treasure Island....

I just loved being in the mountains, enjoying friendships, time away from home, and the beautiful beautiful mountains filled with these fun Aspen tree's!

Sunday morning was really weird. Usually Jeremy and I are so crazy busy. This Sunday we just relaxed, watched the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and played with the kids. It was really really nice... yet really werid. It was also fun to visit another ward.

I just love this picture of Hadley and her Grumpy face. Oh what a Character.

Thank you to Bruce and Debany for providing such a fun getway! You guys are so awesome!

Preparing for Fun...

Today while I was busy cooking up goodies for our weekend adventure, the kids just couldn't wait to go sledding. I looked to see Boston pulling Hadley on our new sled! Loved it!

This is one of the goodies I made. IT IS HEAVEN. Seriously I am in love. You should really make some right now.

Chex Funfetti Cake Batter Buddies

Ingredients:
5 cups Chex cereal (I used Rice Chex, but Corn Chex would work great!)
10 oz (5 squares) vanilla flavored Almond Bark
1 1/2 c. Funfetti cake mix (any kind of cake mix would work)
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vegetable shortening

Method:
1. Melt Almond Bark according to the package directions, adding vegetable shortening to thin (I heard that you can make it without the shortening, but it worked great for me to use it). 2. Pour the cereal into a large bowl and drizzle the melted Almond Bark over the cereal. Mix gently with a large spoon or spatula. 3. Dump the cake mix and powdered sugar onto the cereal and mix gently with large spoon until all the cereal is evenly coated. 4. Enjoy!! It's so good! :)

We LOVE Snow!

Today, it snowed. The kids and I LOVE snow... but Hadley had a fever, so I kept them inside all morning. By afternoon the kids couldn't take it any longer. So I gave in.

They went down...

They went up...

We built a slanted dancing snowman!

Oh how we love the snow!

Queen of Nicknames

This little girl is Queen of Nicknames. It cracks me up. She calls my Mom "Gram" She calls Boston "Boss" Bost" Boston-O" "Bosty"... and if I were to call him those names I would get in BIG trouble. But Hadley, she can say whatever she wants. She calls me "Mom-O" or "Mommy-O" It just cracks me up to hear all the names she comes up with...a lot of them I can't remember because they are mostly gibberish!

In this cute picture she is wearing the dress my Mother-in-law made for her. Hadley LOVES this skirt. She wants to wear it everyday. It's so cute!

Hadley’s Obsession

On Thursday I decided to take some picture of Hadley's cute obsession with scissors. I don't think anything keeps her entertained longer then a piece of paper and scissors. She just love to cut, and cut somemore. Cute right? Well it was cute on Thursday, but on Saturday her obsession with scissors was no longer cute. Jeremy was being a super nice husband and cleaning the bathroom for me while I was gone... meanwhile Hadley was in the living room giving herself a haircut with her kid scissors. He walked in to find locks of hair EVERYWHERE! Needless to say she had an emergency haircut that night. We did what we could with it... unless you look close it looks pretty cute! She did an all around cut though... so there are some really interesting lengths all over her head! Oh dear...

Valentines Day

I think this Valentines was one of my favorites. It was just a great day! We started off with a yummy breakfast of chocolate dipped strawberries, and red velvet waffles! Jeremy went off to work and the kids and I went on a chocolate scavenger hunt that Jeremy had left us!! Then we went off to Story Time at the Library which was fun! Boston loved going to his Valentine party at preschool! I got the babysitter and the kids a heart shaped pizza for dinner, and Jeremy and I headed out on the town! It was my turn to plan this year! After seeing the line at Texas Roadhouse, we decided to eat at Applebee's! Which was delicious! Then we went to the High School play of My Fair Lady! It was such a fun night and a great day! Too bad I didn't get more pictures!

Valentines Day Prep!

The kiddos couldn't WAIT for Valentines Day! They had so much fun writing and sending Valentines.

Hadley was "writing" one for her Grandma's and she said "This is the mommy smily face, and this is the baby smily face." I couldn't believe it! She really did draw smily faces! Her first really recognizable drawing! Awesome!

The friday before Valentines day we got together with some of my nieces and nephews, Heather and her Mom, and my Mom to decorate some YUMMY sugar cookies!!! The kids all had a blast.

Sugar overload!!!

Yup... they were THAT yummy!

Then we did a fun heart/butterfly craft! The kids loved it. Most of all I think they just enjoyed being together!
