Easter Festivities

We did lots of fun things leading up to Easter...

We made Nests with Eggs (no bake cookies and robin eggs)

Dyed Easter Eggs... Hadley was especially great at breaking them!

Boston really got into it this year. It is so fun how the traditions get better and better as they get older!

So many pretty eggs!!

On Wednesday Boston and Hadley got to hangout with the Easter bunny a.k.a. Jeremy. It was Jeremy's 3rd year doing it for the hospital daycare's. He loves doing it, and the kids think it is super fun!

Arches Day 1

Jeremy and I planned a trip to Arches National Park from April 14th-16th. I really didn't set to high of expectations, not knowing how much hiking our kids could take. Boy was I surprised! We were able to do just about everything I could have wanted. We took like 300 pictures, so although I am posting A TON, at least it's not all 300! I wish I was funny or Witty to make it more interesting, but I'm not. So it's just a journal post...

We arrived at our "campground" at 3:30pm. This is the first time I have ever camped in a KOA type thing. It was weird. Jeremy loved having a shower. I would prefer some space to myself over having showers. All in all, it worked out great because it was really close the Arches.

The kids LOVED this motorcycle at the check in desk.

Here is our tent spot.

We set up camp, and while I packed our picnic lunch Jeremy and the kids played around.

Jeremy has been SO BUSY with work it was so nice to kidnap him and have his attention!!

We headed off to Arches and were greated by these awesome sights!

We then headed off for an evening hike!

Boston did AMAZING. He kept telling us to hurry up! He was ahead of us the entire time... except for when I made him hold my hand!

Boston also did a great job of finding the rock cairns which marked the trail.

We did it! We made it to Delicate Arch! (3 miles) It was SUPER WINDY, but oh so worth it. This is probably my favorite arch because it is so hidden until you come around the corner and all the sudden, WOW! There is the BEAUTIFUL arch!

Me and Boston braved the wind and trekked out to be under the arch. We are so tiny!!

On our way back down we ate a picnic dinner. The kids LOVED eating outside for nearly every meal! I loved it too, easy clean up!

We finished our hike just in time! The sun was just setting! What a perfect start to our adventure!

We went back to camp and roasted some hot dogs!! We were all pretty tired and were asleep by 10:00...

Arches Day 2

What a rough night. A group of single adults came at 11:00pm to set up camp. They did this by shining their truck lights in our tent, and laughing, talking as loud as possible. Between that and Hadley waking up a million times, we didn't get much sleep. But the sun came up, and we decided to make the best out of the day!
We started off the day going to the visitor's center. Maybe we should have done that the first day...

There is even arches inside the Visitors Center!

The we headed out to Devil's Garden where a number of the arches are hidden.

We did a loop (1.6 miles) to see 3 arches. The first one was Tunnel Arch.

This is as close as you can get to this one!

The next one was Pine Tree Arch! It was really cool. It had several pine tree's around it...

Super Dad!

The last Arch on our loop was Landscape Arch! This one is HUGE! Bigger then a football field!!

It was a great loop. Easy trail.

Next up, Skyline Arch.

You can see this one from the road, but it is worth the short (.4 mile) walk

to see all the rock's that fell to make the arch so big! Seriously amazing.

I didn't think we would see any of these creatures since it wasn't very warm, but I was surprised! We ran into about 5 of them! Hadley LOVED them! And pretended to see them everywhere!

Next we went in between these rocks, (.3 mile) to go to

Sand Dune Arch! The kids FAVORITE!!

You walk through these tight areas and wind up in a big open area full of sand!

It was finally warming up, so we let the kids go to town!

Beach Babe! She couldn't get enough of the sand and kept begging to go back! More Sand, More Sand. Again, Again!

Boston thought it would be a great idea to make sand angels!

The warm sand felt SO GOOD!

Awesome, Awesome Arch!!

After all that fun, both kids ZONKED out!

While they slept we enjoyed some of the views you can drive to, like this one. The Fiery Furnace!

We drove back to camp and let the kids swim in the pool! It really wasn't that warm, so we didn't stay to long! The kids had a blast though.

That night we went into Moab and had fun browsing the shops and eating out!

Boston's kid's menu pancake... IT WAS HUGE!!!!

Oh my yummyness!

We felt really silly driving around in the mini-van, when everyone else drove around jeeps!! What a fun day! We went to bed hoping we could all get some sleep!
